Agape Outreach Calls for Community Support to Help 2,000 People This Christmas
Agape Outreach Inc. is gearing up to support up to 2,000 people in need this Christmas, including local families, rough sleepers, and individuals doing it tough across the Northern Rivers and Gold Coast regions.
Each year, Agape provides a Christmas lunch, food hampers, and presents to ensure that no one goes without during the festive season. This year, the charity will again deliver gift packs to people living on the streets, alongside toys and gifts for children and parents, and Christmas food hampers filled with all the essentials for a
holiday meal.
Founder and CEO Theresa Mitchell said, βFor many of the people we support, Christmas is the hardest time of year, and it is also the time when people who usually do not ask for help do, so the numbers increase. Our goal is to make sure everyone feels seen, valued, and cared forβeven if itβs just through a warm meal, a thoughtful gift, or a smile.β
Agape is calling on local businesses and the wider community to get involved by:
- Sponsoring a Christmas meal for $25
- Hosting a Christmas Giving Tree at their workplace to collect gifts and donations
- Donating food items such as hams, turkey rolls, puddings, and drinks for the Agape Christmas Party
Donations can be dropped off at Agape Outreach Inc, 56 Recreation Street, Tweed Heads, or collected by arrangement for larger contributions.
